Saffron facial oil
A facial oil built around hand-picked saffron stigmas, roughly 150 flowers to the gram. Certified organic.
Best Beauty is an apothecary of scarce botanicals: certified organic, slow to harvest, worth the wait.
We start with the herb, not the formula. The botanicals we chase are genuinely scarce: flowers picked by hand in short seasons, roots that take years to thicken, berries guarded by thorns. Saffron alone asks roughly 150 crocus flowers for a single gram of stigma.
When a harvest is small, we would rather wait for the next one than substitute something easier.
Our products are certified organic. That is the one claim we put on paper, and it shapes every buying decision we make. If an herb cannot be grown or gathered to that standard, it does not reach the shelf.
A rare herb deserves a short ingredient list. We build each product around one botanical doing one job, so a shelf of ten can become a shelf of three. Wellness, to us, is fewer things chosen harder.
Six of the herbs we hunt, and why they are hard to find.
The hand-picked stigmas of an autumn crocus. It takes roughly 150 flowers to yield one gram, which is why true saffron has been traded like treasure for millennia.
An everlasting flower from dry Mediterranean hillsides that keeps its gold color after drying. Its oil is distilled in famously small yields.
The violet root behind centuries of East Asian balms, known in Japan as shikon. Slow to cultivate and harder to find with every passing year.
A climbing madder whose red root has been ground for skin preparations in Ayurvedic practice for well over a thousand years.
A thorn-guarded shore berry, one of the few plant sources of omega-7. Picking between the spines is slow, deliberate work.
A golden root from arctic cliffs and cold plateaus. It grows so slowly that wild harvest is now restricted across much of its range.
Formulas are finishing slowly, as good things do. Leave an email and we will write when the first bottles are ready.
